CDG is currently the only competitive program on the Treasure Coast that offers Future Stars, TOPS & HOPES. Our athletes compete state and nationwide.
Future Stars - Boys
The Future Stars program is intended to identify talented athletes exhibiting a strong caliber and quality participating in the DP Track (Levels 8, 9, & 10) and encourage their continuation and growth in Gymnastics program. Evaluation will occur annually at USA Gymnastics Championships and be completed by a Future Stars Committee.
Tops - Hopes - Elite - Girls
Our sport’s highest level of competition is called Elite. It has two age divisions, Junior (11- 15) and Senior (16+). The Juniors are always exciting to watch, packed with fantastic, dynamic gymnastics while the Seniors division is where the prestige and glory dominate, with World and Olympic-bound opportunities at the finish line. Qualification rules to ‘become’ an Elite are simple... get the Optional and Compul- sory score, qualify to Classics, and then compete at Championships of the USA! The goal of TOPs is to identify gymnasts with a “special” talent that if coached right, can become a very high-level gymnast, the program is focused mainly on strength, conditioning, and flexibility. TOPs gymnasts also learn some specific gymnastics skills that are building blocks to other high-level skills. The TOPs program is a testing program, that is managed under the same committee control as the HOPES and Junior Elite programs.
HOPES provides athletes with an opportunity to compete the traditional Elite compulsory and a modified FIG Optional routine and includes an opportunity to qualify to the Challenge (HOPES division only). It is a ‘Pre’ Pre-Elite program. Athletes compete in the same qualifiers as their Elite teammates and earn their way up the ranks.
The Elite Program at USA Gymnastics has two competitive level components - a Junior Division and a Senior Division. An athlete must be 12 to 18 years of age to compete as a Junior Elite and must be at least 16 years of age to participate internationally as a Senior Elite.
